Career Achievement Award – 2008
CLIFF ROBERTSON
The Independence Film Fest of Colorado is thrilled to honor Academy Award winner and film legend Cliff Robertson with its Career Achievement Award & Tribute. Robertson has portrayed men from all walks of life in his prestigious career: presidents, military men, criminals, a surfer, a cowboy, and more...even Hugh Hefner. He was personally chosen by John F. Kennedy to portray the president in the motion picture “P.T. 109” — the story of Kennedy’s heroic World War II exploits. One of America’s foremost dramatic actors, Robertson is the only actor to have won the Academy Award, the Emmy Award, and the Theater World Award, as well as the Advertising Age Award. His many credits include “Charly”, “Spider-Man”, “The Devil’s Brigade”, “The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid”, “Three Days of the Condor”, “Obsession”, and “Star 80”. Cliff’s brave stand against corporate corruption in Hollywood was honored by the late Congressman, Morris Udall, in the Congressional Record.
The IFFC pays tribute to this amazing and multi-talented performer with a special tribute and retrospective taking place on Opening Night at the historic Avalon Theater in Grand Junction on Friday, Sept. 12th at 8pm.
